What do I wear?

The members of the Chichester Baptist Church are committed to showing Christ's love to everyone, no matter how they look.  We do believe, however, that the church is a very special place, described in the Scriptures as the "house of God, the pillar and ground of the truth" (I Timothy 3:15).  For this reason, we encourage people to dress in a conservative and respectful manner while at church.

We prefer that men and boys wear long pants and shirts that have a collar; ties and suit coats are always appropriate, though not necessary.  We prefer that the ladies and girls wear dresses or skirts that at least cover the knee, and loose fitting blouses that provide proper coverage.

There are always instances when people cannot dress in these ways for various reasons, and we will never allow a person's appearance to lessen our kindness toward them.
